Parent Code of Conduct
Franciscan Primary School is at the heart of a thriving and diverse community. We are very fortunate to have a supportive and friendly parent body, and we deeply value the strong relationships we share with our families.
At Franciscan, we believe that educating children is a partnership between parents, carers, teachers, and the wider school community. When we work together with shared respect and understanding, we give our children the very best foundation for learning, wellbeing, and success.
For these reasons, we continue to welcome and encourage families to participate fully in the life of our school - supporting our values, celebrating our achievements, and helping us maintain a safe and positive environment for all.
Purpose of this Policy
The purpose of this policy is to remind all parents, carers, and visitors of the expected standards of conduct at Franciscan Primary School. By following this shared code, we can continue to ensure that our school community flourishes in an atmosphere of mutual respect, kindness, and understanding.
We ask all parents, carers, and visitors to:

Respect the caring ethos, values, and principles of Franciscan Primary School.

Recognise that both parents and staff work together for the benefit of all children.

Demonstrate respect in all interactions, setting a positive example through speech, tone, and behaviour.

Seek clarification and work in partnership with staff to resolve concerns calmly and constructively.

Support their child in behaving safely and respectfully, including in public and when representing the school.

Approach the school directly to help resolve any issues of concern rather than discussing them publicly or on social media.

Refrain from using staff or the school environment as a means to discipline or admonish a child.
Working Together
We are proud of the strong partnership between home and school at Franciscan. By modelling kindness, respect, and understanding, we show our children how to resolve differences positively and work together to achieve great things.
