In Nursery , we have organised the school day to maximise periods of uninterrupted play, allowing children to become deeply involved in their own learning. We see learning as a collaborative journey with both adults and children working together to explore and discover new skills. When playing, our adults inspire them to reflect, make connections, be ambitious and achieve their next steps.  

Nursery Curriculum

Our broad and balanced curriculum is underpinned by the Early Years Foundation Stage Statutory Framework and ‘Development Matters’ guidance, along with children’s interests, developmental needs, and the context of our school.

Learning Environment

When using our environment we focus on the importance of how to share resources, how to use them safely, and how to tidy away after ourselves. This supports our pupils to learn skills, challenge their thinking and helps them to embed concepts.

Our resources in each learning area  selected  and pupils are taught to use them to support their to support pupil progression. Through play, children learn about the world and themselves. 

Our learning environment is enriched by the use of our wider school resources. This includes our forest school, school library, science room, outdoor spaces and music room.
