Franciscan Primary School

School Meals

Franciscan Primary School operates a healthy eating policy for both school lunches and packed lunches.

Primary school children in state-funded schools in London will get free school meals for the 2023/24 school year.

There is a charge for school meals of £2.55 for Nursery children, unless they are eligible for Free School Meals. All payments for school meals will need to be paid via ParentPay. If you think your child may be entitled to free school meals, please fill in an application form available from the school office.

Children can choose to have a cooked meal or bring in a packed lunch. School meals are cooked on the premises and provide a healthy, balanced diet.

There is always a choice of menu, including salads and a vegetarian dish, and special diets can be catered for if we are given adequate notice.

Packed lunches should also be nutritionally well balanced. They should not include sweets, fizzy drinks or drinks in cans or glass containers. Whichever choice of meal your child makes, we ask that he or she sticks to that choice for at least half a term.

If you think your child may be entitled to free school meals, please fill in an application form available from the school office.

Our caterers for 2023-24 are Taylor Shaw who offer a healthy and tasty menu, including a daily vegetarian option.

If your child requires a medical diet due to a food allergy, food intolerance or a medical condition that requires an adapted menu (e.g. carbohydrate count for Type 1 Diabetes), please follow this link to request a medical diet: https://orders.lunchhound.co.uk/medicaldiets/request For further support, please refer to the Parent User Guide
