School Meals

Franciscan Primary School operates a healthy eating policy for both school lunches and packed lunches.

Children can choose to have a cooked meal or bring in a packed lunch. School meals are cooked on the premises, offer good value for money and provide a healthy, balanced diet.

There is always a choice of menu, including salads and a vegetarian dish, and special diets can be catered for if we are given adequate notice.

Packed lunches should also be nutritionally well balanced. They should not include sweets, fizzy drinks or drinks in cans or glass containers. Whichever choice of meal your child makes, we ask that he or she sticks to that choice for at least half a term.

School meals must be paid for in advance.  From 3rd May 2022 school lunches will be £2.42 per day (£12.10 per week).  All payments for school meals will need to be paid via ParentPay

If you think your child may be entitled to free school meals, please fill in an application form available from the school office.

Our caterers for 2022-23 are Taylor Shaw who offer a healthy and tasty menu, including a daily vegetarian option.

If your child requires a medical diet due to a food allergy, food intolerance or a medical condition that requires an adapted menu (e.g. carbohydrate count for Type 1 Diabetes), please follow this link to request a medical diet: https://orders.lunchhound.co.uk/medicaldiets/request For further support, please refer to the Parent User Guide
